Earlier, when there was any change of job/assignment, we just had to shift places. Literally leave one group of people and join another.
Today we have a bigger task on hand to complete the transition…
Exit from n number of WhatsApp groups ( let’s call it WAG) of the old place and join multiple new WAGs..
Admins of the outgoing place have the additional job of politely removing the ex-members. Usually one week grace time is given…
Admins of the incoming place should remember to quickly include the new incumbent.. else important communications may be missed out..
Some WAGs are eternal.. once a member you will always remain one.. however inactive the group might be..
And there are a few who will be silent spectators of the group if admin forgets to remove them.. well it’s our moral responsibility to quit the group if we are not meant to be part of it
I guess it’s time that we have a SOP for WAGs in the work place for ensuring a smooth transition.
